The Black Duck, a bed and breakfast inn, is located in the tranquil, Downeast fishing village of Corea, overlooking one of the most picturesque harbors in Maine, islands and the open ocean.
We have twelve acres to explore with wonderful rock outcrops offering places to sit and read, paint or just search the skies for a glimpse of a soaring eagle while watching the harbor or the sea beyond.
Our four guest rooms and two waterfront cottages offer a retreat from the hassles of daily city life. Enjoy a fabulous gourmet, heart-healthy breakfast every morning.
We have wild blueberries and cranberries to pick, if you're here when they're ripe. When hiking, you might come upon our hidden tidal bay and salt marshes which are terrific spots to bird watch.
There are sand beaches within an easy walk from the house, and a fresh water pond within a short drive, we can also arrange kayaking tours and bicycle rentals. We are only a few miles from the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park.
We're also close to other wildlife sanctuaries, public golf courses, antique shops, an organic farm and several restaurants. We're well located to serve as a central point for a variety of day trips including Bar Harbor, Blue Hill, FDR's home in Campobello, as well as the seaport towns of Eastport and Lubec.
