Hinchman Acres Resort rents canoes, tubes, kayaks and rafts. on the AuSable River. The river winds through mile after mile of unspoiled wilderness with deer, beaver, ducks, otter, wild mink, bald eagles and other wildlife.
Canoeing is fun, it's easy and it's the outdoor sport for the entire family. Even if you've never paddled a canoe before, you and your family will be surprised at how quickly you catch on.
There are no physical demands beyond those of normal good health. Canoeing is open to all ages and degrees of experience. Pick the time you wish to begin and end your trip, our courteous drivers will pick you up at a prearranged time and transport you back to your vehicle.
If you'd like to stay awhile, Hinchman Acres Resort has 11 cottages for rent. In addition to canoeing, enjoy the sandy beach, great fishing, campfire pit, warming hut and game room, playground, ping pong, horseshoes, shuffleboard, basketball, badminton, and volleyball.
The Kenbuck Resort year round cabins are located in the Hiawatha National Forest, just 18 miles south of Munising, yet deep in the dense woods. There are 100 lakes within ten miles of your cabin.
Kenbuck Resort is the ideal location for horse owners to bring their own horses as there are portable corrals available and the Pine Marten Horse Trail is nearby. We have space for your horses and trailers so you can ride through the forest, just you and your horse, without another human being in sight. Horse rentals are available nearby if you do not want to bring your own horse and trailer.
Kenbuck is a sportsman's resort with 5 clean housekeeping cabins.
We offer four two-bedroom cabins and one with three bedrooms. All bedrooms have double beds. If there is a large group, the five cabins can sleep up to 24 people.
Cabins 1, 2, and 5 have an oven and Cabins 3 and 4 have a three burner hot plate.
Each cabin comes with a boat. There is a screen house, fire pit, picnic table, grill, and fish cleaning house for your convenience.
Enjoy Mother Nature at her best with excellent summer and winter fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, canoeing, horseback riding, biking, hiking, or just plain relaxing. The Sturgeon River and Chicago Lake are nearby for great summer and winter fishing.
